When does the sun reach this window?
For every window, ResiViewer shows when direct sunlight comes in, through the day and through the year, accounting for the terrain, the surrounding buildings, the building itself and the balcony above, and what the view looks like at that hour.
From the window to the unit
Each room and each unit is counted as a whole: two windows in the sun at the same hour count as one hour, not two. So a three-bedroom unit does not announce three times the sun.
Compare, at the same hour
Put two or three units side by side and read the hours of direct sun on the longest and the shortest days, and at the same hour on any day.
What it is, and what it is not
It is the direct sunlight on a clear day, worked out from the geometry of the building and of what stands around it. It does not include clouds, trees, shutters or the glass, and it is not an energy calculation.
